Hi, I'm Siobhan and I am a qualified therapist with an HPD in Counselling and am a registered member of the British Associated of Counselling and Psychotherapists. My practice is based on the person-centred approach. On the whole this is a non-directive approach, we work with what you bring to each session and what you are comfortable with. I am experienced in providing a safe space for you to explore what is troubling you and helping you to find a way to come to terms with it. I believe that when we have a non-judgmental listener really working to understand our story with empathy that it can be a very healing process. This relationship is the core of the person-centred approach and is where the therapeutic change occurs. Some people find one or two sessions is enough for this, others choose a lot more. As each client is different it is impossible to say up front how many sessions are required but I usually ask clients to plan for six to start with and then review at that point. In addition to working online, I also work as a school counsellor and private face to face work. I have also been involved with CAMHS supporting parents of children with ADHD and ASD. As well as the areas listed, I am passionate about supporting survivors of sibling abuse, whether it is physical, sexual or emotional. Please note I only work with clients who are eighteen and older online as there are safeguarding issues working with younger clients.
